The Illusion
We are the creators of our ongoing reality. Our focus of attention and our agreement
concerning the possibilities we enjoy as well as the limitation we choose to place
ourselves under are the driving force in our world. We like to call this reality an
‘illusion’ because we know that all things are possible and that the limitations
we now experience can be overcome. It’s only a movie. It exists only in our minds.
Therefore, we say, it is just an illusion. I doing so, we may get the feeling that we do
not need to participate in the illusion or that we are just watching the movie go by
without having any influence on its outcome. This is not the case. In consensus agreement,
we are the creators of our overall movie of reality. As individuals, we are participating
each and every moment that the movie continues.
There is an illusion that is taking place. It is not, however, our movie of reality.
This world with all its experiences and all its potential is quite real. Remember that all
that is, is of The One. All is Energy or Spirit. The physical world around us is Energy or
Spirit, too. It has its substance in the vast potential of The One. It is as real as you
and I are.
Where, then, is the illusion?
The illusion is the appearance in our mind that what is happing is external, or outside
of us. Energy or Spirit is holographic. In the Spirit, there is no ‘place’ that
can relate to our movie of reality, there is no ‘distance’ between objects such
as you and I, and there is no ‘time’ as we know it.
We are Spirit first. Spirit is the foundation of all physical reality, and our physical
being is a reflection of this energy. We have learned to perceive our physical reality
through the physical senses of sight, sound, taste, touch and smell. These are our
physical movie receptors.
Our mind plays a little trick on us to give us the feeling that the movie is happening
‘out there’ and that we are ‘in here’ watching it. This little mental
trick is very deceptive unless we recognize that it is taking place in our mind. If we are
to realize our oneness with Spirit Creator and acknowledge our involvement in our movie of
reality, we must recognize exactly how we interact with our reality.
Let’s take a close look at the activity of Spirit in creation and the little trick
that our mind plays on us. To help us understand, let’s monitor the energy field
around the body where evidence of physical reality and Spirit come together. With the
monitor in place, we are able to record the energy activity that is taking place in our
‘aura.’ We will also monitor the electrical activity in our brain as changes in
our movie of reality take place and compare it to what is happening in our aura.
When we do this, we see an amazing phenomenon taking place. Everything that is
happening to us in our movie of reality, all sight, sound, taste, touch and smell
information that we are processing, is causing detectable changes in the vibration of the
energy field around our physical body. Well, you say, that stands to reason. But here is
the amazing thing. When something ‘happens’ in our reality, these detectable
changes in our aura are taking place BEFORE the activity in our brain begins to process
our reality.
As an example, if you were sitting in a quiet room and someone spoke your name, the
sound registers in your aura first, before your mind perceives it as a sound. Then, a
moment later, your physical brain begins displaying energy patterns indicating that you
are ‘hearing’ the sound. Even later, after your brain has processed the
information, you become ‘aware’ that your name was spoken. Bur your mind does
not show you these subtle time relationships. Your mind gives you the feeling that what is
happening is happening in ‘real time’ and ‘right here.’
Because in Spirit, there is no time, in Spirit there is no distance. Your name was
spoken in the timeless, eternal energy of The One when another Spirit focused attention on
you. Your name was spoken throughout the energy of The One. In Spirit, every
‘thing’ in the universe was aware of your name and everyone knew your name was
spoken.
You are not your body. You exist as Spirit without the limitations of time and
distance. In Spirit, you knew the moment the attention of another was given. Your body is
just the vehicle through which you experience this movie of reality. The illusion is
taking place in the mind.
Where are we aware?
We are aware in our Mind. (with a capitol ‘M’). The Mind, the awareness
beyond the physical, exists in the energy of our aura. The energy patterns in the aura are
a reflection of the Mind, not the physical body, in response to what is happing in the
Spirit world. We can say that the Mind is not in the body. Time and space do not limit
Spirit. Time and space do not come into play until the Spirit is perceived by the mind, by
the physical.
When we compare this to watching a movie in the theater it is no big deal. The
projector is the source of the movie. The light from the projector strikes the movie
screen. The movie screen can be compared to our aura. Energy patterns appear there. A
little while later, it registers in our brain and a moment after that, we become aware of
the movie. It’s still a movie and we are still out here watching it. You are correct.
In that respect, that little time lag makes no difference.
Let’s kick it up a notch. We have been observing energy patterns in the aura and
in the physical body. Now, let’s remove our instruments from the physical body and
set them up beyond the area of the aura. The energy patterns here are higher in frequency
and much subtler, so we will have to find tune our equipment. We find that there are
energy patterns here, too, and that they have a relationship to the energy patterns in the
aura.
The energy beyond the aura seems to contain only shifting, random flowing energy. To
our instruments, it appears chaotic and seems to have no pattern. We can analyze the
energy and discover whether it has the potential for patterns. When we take a closer look
at this energy, we find that the potential for patterns does exist in this energy.
Now, let’s return to our original experiment; you were sitting in a quiet room and
someone spoke your name. If what we discovered before is amazing, what we find now is even
more amazing. Just BEFORE the individual speaks your name, a subtle pattern arises in the
energy of your aura and in the chaotic patterns just beyond your aura. A moment later,
your name is spoken and the physical words appear as an energy pattern in your brain and a
moment later, you become aware.
When we compare this knowledge to watching a movie in the theater, we will discover a
vital fact of our consensus reality. The projector is the source of the movie. The light
from the projector strikes the movie screen. We are the projectors. What is happening in
consensus reality is taking place in the holographic Energy of Spirit – and we are
Spirit. Remember that Spirit has no location from our physical perspective. Spirit is
everywhere. Spirit is interconnected throughout space and time as we know it. All Spirit
is connected to and aware of All Spirit.
What does this mean to me? It means that my reality is not an illusion. It means that I
am the creator. I have participated, in Spirit, in the decision making process for every
aspect of my ongoing reality. I cannot just sit back and watch. I cannot just let the
world go by.
I cannot not participate.
If this is true, then we decided to share this lesson a while ago. It is not new to
either of us.
Now, knowing that I cannot not participate, I must decide how I wish to participate.
I must learn the Attention of The Master.
