What is happening in consensus reality is taking place in the holographic Energy of
Spirit – and we are Spirit. Remember that Spirit has no location from our physical
perspective. Spirit is everywhere. Spirit is interconnected throughout space and time as
we know it. All Spirit is connected to and aware of All Spirit.
We are free, eternal Spirit, but we live in a physical world and we possess a physical
body. We all have a paradigm that continually evaluates this movie of reality. How is it
possible to Walk in Peace? In the intensity of consensus reality, where is the Attention
of the Master?
I leave the house in the morning fully expecting to make the trip to work as usual.
There is frost on the windshield of the Suburban, but it starts right up. I move the heat
to high and set the blower control to maximum. No blower! Now what?
Heading back to the house to awaken my sleeping sixteen year old son so he can take me
to work before school starts, I reflect: I am driving that old, beat up Suburban so he can
drive the Geo on his daily commute between High School and College campuses. Economic
reasons are a logical decision for the exchange of vehicles, but I really love that little
car. I am over fifty years old and the Geo is the very first new car I have owned.
Attachment? You bet! Questions?
Here is where the mind of the Master goes into full gear. In order for me to enjoy the
movie, I must remain fully aware that it is totally subjective and one hundred percent a
result of attention. I alone supply the meaning. I alone am the source of all questions.
We all have a different perspective within our movie of reality. My son is the source
of all his questions and he supplies the meaning. He may ask, ‘Why isn’t the
blower working?’
I know my son and I understand his question. I may respond by saying that there may be
a broken wire, a bad fuse or a defective blower. He is asking from his perspective and my
answers make sense.
From a ‘New Age’ perspective, these answers may not satisfy. The same
question may be asked, but an entirely different response becomes appropriate. The
question may imply: Were you supposed to be late for work for some reason? Are your guides
keeping you from having an accident? Are you supposed to stay home today? Is there some
Karma involved? Are you too attached to the Geo? Is there a lesson in this?
Surprisingly, without becoming metaphysical at all, we can ask the New Age questions
from a scientific perspective. Enter Chaos and butterfly wings.
Recent discoveries about how our reality works show us very clearly that a higher
order, an order beyond the cause and effect relationships of the mechanical world exists.
These discoveries have lead to the study of Chaos. In the past, the term Chaos implied
disorder or lack of order. We know now that Chaos is not the lack of order at all. Chaos
is the existence of order on a ‘higher’ level. The entire physical world works
together as a whole to produce what we experience now. This order is so intrinsic in the
physical world that no single element of cause can ever be implied. Scientists studying
Chaos understand that the hurricane off the coast of Florida can be traced to the single
wing flap of a butterfly in Tokyo weeks earlier. But it doesn’t stop there. The
nature of Chaos tells us that the ‘cause’ has to continue back through the
evolution of the butterfly from the very beginning life on Earth. Any subtle change along
those millions of years has a tremendous effect on the end event. Whew! That’s a long
journey for a single hurricane.
And that is just the ‘beginning.’ The order of Chaos tells us that the
butterfly did not act alone. It is not just that single flap of the butterfly’s
wings, but the position of every tree, every flower, every rock, every building –
everything on earth at the moment the event took place. The air currents created by the
butterfly’s wings were not really the source. Every breath of every living creature
is taken into account at that moment. At that moment, everything had to be just right. The
order of Chaos is very sensitive to initial conditions.
In the order of Chaos we find that there is no specific cause and effect. In the vast
and ever changing environment of our own physical world, everything works together,
nothing is out of place and everything contributes to the whole. In this order, which can
be called Divine Order, the universe is in a constant state of change and a constant state
of ever changing Balance. Because of the Divine Order’s sensitivity to initial
conditions, no initial condition exists. Time can be divided into separations so small
that they seem meaningless. But to Diving Order, there is no ‘time’ when
everything is not perfectly in Balance and constantly changing.
The order of Chaos extends well into the quantum world of energy where creation begins,
but we do not have to go there to develop the attention of the Master. We are here in our
physical body experiencing the movie of reality through our five physical senses. It is a
cold fall morning, and the blower doesn’t work. Where is the attention of the Master?
We gain freedom from the illusion by immersing ourselves in experience while focusing
our attention on the whole. The attention of the Master is on the inside looking out while
on the outside looking in. The attention of the Master is in the game of life while
observing the game of life. And the Master understands the ‘rules’ of the game.
- Good and Bad are Subjective: My personal choice in my Personal Universe effects only
me. I usually never know the overall effect my choice has on the Whole. If I am walking
the gentle way, is my lack of affect when I awaken my son keeping him from displaying an
affect to his son that will prevent his son from becoming the military leader that will
save this nation from destruction in the next world war? If I become angry and over react,
does this cascade down the skein of time and ultimately, like the butterfly wings, cause
the next war? Good and Bad are Subjective.
- Everyone Plays: I can choose not to ‘over react’ and walk the gentle way,
or I can respond in anger. In either case, I have participated in the whole. As long as I
am here, taking another breath is an act of participation. Even doing ‘nothing’
is an act of participation. Everyone Plays.
- I Am The Butterfly: Every word or word withheld, every smile or frown, every breath
and every thought has an impact on the whole. Subtle shifts in energy often have an
enormous impact on the whole. I Am The Butterfly.
- I Am The Hurricane: Every ‘wrong’ I ‘right’ with energy, every
belief I promote with conviction, every hour I sweat to make my life and the lives of
others ‘better’ stands out as a frame in the movie of life. Great efforts of
energy often have an enormous impact on the whole. I Am The Hurricane.
- I Choose: It is not so much what happens in this movie of reality as it is my
response or reaction to what happens. I may react with the emotions created by the
paradigm. I may respond by reflecting on The One. In either case, it is my choice. I
Choose.
- I Never Act Alone: In the holographic energy of Spirit, everything is interconnected
and every place is the center. I Never Act Alone.
- There Is No Judgment: To respond is not better or worse than to react. To react is
not better or worse than to respond. Each is simply a choice. There Is No Judgment.
- Balance Is: In whatever I am doing and wherever I am, Balance exists in The Whole. I
may not experience Balance or be aware of Balance, but in the holographic energy of
Spirit, The One is never out of Balance. I Am of The One. Balance Is.
I am free now to make my way through the scenes in my movie of life, not gaining
Balance but Knowing Balance. I fit perfectly into The One. But while I am playing my part
in the movie of life, I may never gain the overall perspective of the Universe. I may
water the grass in the summertime and think I have done a good thing, but I may never know
what subtle changes that extra moisture in the air has caused in the Universe. I may smile
spontaneously at a stranger on the street, but I may never know the outcome.
But God has given me my Personal Universe. Every question I ask is answered just for
me. Is it a fuse, a wire or a defective blower motor? The answer is just for me. Am I
supposed to be late for work today? Was there an accident that my guides are keeping me
from becoming involved in? The answers are just for me. I have asked, and the answers God
gives fit only into my Personal Universe. They may make sense in the Personal Universe of
another, or they may not, but they fit perfectly only into my Personal Universe. In every
moment of every day, God is interacting with me on a personal level. I Am One with the
Universe. I Am One with God.
I know that each breath I take and every thought I have is experienced in The One and
has an effect on the Universe. And I know that as long as I am playing my part in this
movie of reality I may never gain an overall perspective of the Universe. The Universe is
a symphony of the voices of all. Everyone sings. I can hear the final tune, but I cannot
tell how each voice contributes.
I can gain a perspective on how my Personal Universe effects the Personal Universe of
others. I can listen to their songs and choose to join in. I can hear the tune and choose
not to participate. I am free to choose because I know that each voice, each song, each
Personal Universe fits perfectly into The One. I never judge because I know that God is
interacting on a personal level with each player in the movie of life. I cannot know what
effect he or she is doing or not doing is having on the Whole. I can only know that God
has given them the very same freedom that God has given me, and that they have the very
same personal interaction I enjoy.
So, as I make my way back to the house to awaken my son, these things pass quickly
through my mind. I choose the gentle way, but I know it is not the ‘better’ way.
It is just the way I have chosen, in my Personal Universe.
Keeping these thoughts, this awareness in my mind during every event in my life makes
me the Master, but I am the Master only of my Personal Universe, I am the Master only of
myself. I may now Walk in Peace.
