Many prophecies of doom and destruction are appearing as our consensus awareness looks
down the skein of time into the crystallized future. There are also many prophecies of a
wonderful new norld, but these are suppressed by our overwhelming tendency to focus on the
negative. Things are changing, but they have always been changing and in every age, in
every generation there have been the same warnings. Are they any different now? Are we
close to the ‘end of time?’
As we remember the nature of the illusion we must remain aware that consensus reality
is not an illusion. Consensus reality consists of the Energy of Spirit. It is as
‘real’ as are you and I. The illusion is in the sense of separation, limitation
and meaning that we accept and limit ourselves to in order to gain experience.
The Path explains the process of transition from this reality to the next in detail and
leads us to understand that there is no separation, limitation or meaning. We can make
that journey at any moment. If we leave this reality without a predetermined belief in an
‘afterlife,’ we simply ‘go to sleep’ for a ‘time’ while our
mind attracts another experience. We think of physical death as the end, but it is really
another ‘beginning’ that is determined by our focus of attention right here and
now. We awaken into another experience. Our next experience is shared with those that have
similar beliefs and expectations and a similar focus of attention. We agree again to
continue the illusion.
The world cannot end until consensus reality agrees that it can end. We cannot agree
that it will end until we have all gained an awareness of Balance and eliminated the
illusion of separation. At that ‘time’ the term ‘end’ is meaningless.
Before that ‘time,’ we continue to create and the illusion of separation,
limitation and meaning. It does not matter if it appears to end right now! As long as
Spirit holds expectations, desires and the focus of attention, THE ILLUSION CONTINUES.
My son Matt walked into my office last week and asked, "If everyone agreed that
the world would end, would it end?"
A sixteen year old young man with such an inquiring mind is a delight. We talked for
some time about his question and the illusion. It is a challenge to understand that the
illusion is not about consensus reality. What we agree upon and create is very real. The
illusion is about what we limit ourselves to in order to have an experience. It does not
matter if our illusion is consistent with consensus reality. Each of us possesses the
ability to create an individual illusion. And when we agree, the same real experience is
shared by many.
Yes, if everyone agreed that the world would end, it would. What we must understand is
that our consensus reality here in our physical world is not limited to the first layer.
This physical reality is simply the stage upon which we play out the parts we have chosen.
The term ‘everyone’ includes all entities involved in consensus reality. The
physical portion of our reality is the result of agreement in all seven transpersonal
layers. Even so, the power of the individual mind in creating illusion is never taken
away. We are still free to focus and to create a continuing illusion within the illusion.
Examples of the continuing illusion are found in sudden death situations when there is
an intense participation in experience. Battlefields are still inhabited with soldiers
fighting the same intense conflict again and again. Whey they ‘die’ with the
attention highly focused and their expectations limited, they simply go to sleep and
awaken again into the experience. These soldiers are stuck in an experience loop. They
will remain, participating in the experience with those that have remained with them until
their attention is focused elsewhere. These situations are not limited to battlefields. We
often find those that have taken their own life in a state of focused despondency reliving
the experience again and again. We find individuals that have developed a strong
attachment to any physical experience will often remain attached and intend on
participating even after the physical body no longer exists. And to them, it is consensus
reality.
We have a tendency to evaluate this realm of reoccurring experience in the near spirit
world as good or bad, and we tend to focus on the bad. But the ‘good guys’ are
out there, too. Spirits still attached to religion, science, healing, law enforcement or
any intense experience are still focused on and participating in this illusion of
consensus reality. Our world extends far beyond what we know as physical. And to them, it
is consensus reality.
In our discussion, Matt asked, "So, those people that committed suicide believing
that they would be taken onto a space ship in the tail of that comet -------?
"May be in a space ship in the tail of that comet? Yes."
"But they wouldn’t be physical, right?"
"To us, they wouldn’t be physical. To them, we wouldn’t be
physical."
If what we know as the physical world were to end suddenly, right now, a good portion
of the billions of entities that are involved in the illusion would go right on with life
as if nothing had happened. They would not even know that the world had ended. For them,
it has not. Their world is as real to them as ours is to us. To them, or to us, it is
consensus reality. The illusion continues.
The world is not going to end. The world goes on into realities that we have no
connection to or awareness of. The prophecies are only possibilities. But we know that
when we focus our attention and develop beliefs and expectations, we bring those
possibilities into experience.
Technically, the millennium does not begin until the year 2001. We agree in all the
layers of our reality on specific cycles and events that will take place. We are always in
transition. Prophecies from those that look into the potential of creative spirit have
always been with us and will always be with us. Some will tell of doom and distraction.
Others will proclaim a wonderful new world. It has always been so.
The reality we experience is the result of our focus of attention.
During the transition into the year 2000, it may be good to focus on Balance.
